Adho Mukha Savasana (AH-Doh MOO-Kahashwah-NAHS-Anna) is a rejuvenating posture followed by a strenuous yoga practice, especially standing and back extension.
Healthy blood that nourishes the brain is brought to the head. This pose extends and strengthens the legs, feet, and arms, and opens the shoulders.
It relieves heel pain and helps with calcaneal spurs while strengthening the abdominal organs. This is a great pose to prepare beginner students for the headstand.

The long practice of this mudra will build strength for attacks. This asana calms the brain as the head is brought down towards the earth.

People with any wrist injury or pain should avoid this pose.
Use the rope wall to lose weight from the wrist. People with high blood pressure should not perform this pose for more than 30 seconds.
